Benjamin Banneker is well-known in American history as an astronomer, mathematician, surveyor and publisher of several almanacs. Banneker's accomplishments were plentiful, and he earned another level of respect as a self-educated man.

A new interactive exhibit at the Benjamin Banneker Historical Park & Museum profiles the influential women in his life: his grandmother Molly Welsh Bannaky; his mother, Mary Bannaky; and one of his sisters, Jemima Bannaky-Lett. These women led fascinating lives as well. The exhibit runs through September 27, during the museum's regular hours.
